Volunteer Coordinator

DATES: March 3 - May 2, 2008

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Volunteer Coordinator is in charge of recruiting, training, scheduling, and managing volunteers for the Cine Las Americas International Film Festival (April 16-24). The volunteers will fill staff positions during the event including box office, theater ushers, production assistant, photographers, videographers, and drivers. Approximately 30 to 40 volunteers are needed for the event.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To post and advertise film festival call for volunteers.
  • To organize and host one to two recruiting and training sessions between March 17 and April 11.
  • To coordinate with recruited volunteers via email and telephone.
  • To manage the film festival volunteer schedule.
  • To work with film festival Venue Managers in order to guarantee the appropriate staffing of venues.
  • To manage a volunteer database.
  • To collaborate with the Special Events Coordinator in organizing a volunteer wrap-up party.
