Cine Las Americas Launches the 2010 Mexican Cinema Program

AUSTIN, TX (February 8, 2010) - Cine Las Americas will host a Happy Hour to launch the 2010 year-round Mexican Cinema Program. The event will take place on Tuesday, February 9 from 6-8 PM at Malverde (located on 2nd Street and Guadalupe at 400-B W 2nd Street Austin, TX 78701).

The event will feature music by Manolo Black and complimentary drinks.

Guests will have the opportunity to network with festival supporters and members of the international film community, as well as be one of the first to see the 13th Cine Las Americas International Film Festival poster.

Cine Las Americas' Mexican cinema year-round programming begins the following evening, Wednesday, February 10, with free screenings of classic Mexican cinema at the Mexican-American Cultural Center. The series will include five films from Mexican film icons Emilio Fernández and Gabriel Figueroa, and will be screened weekly through March 10.

Suggested donation for the event is $10 at the door.

All proceeds benefit Cine Las Americas programming.
