Cine Las Americas' Advertisements Win Top Honors at the
11th Annual Advertising Age Hispanic Creative Advertising Awards

AUSTIN, TX (September 28, 2009) - Advertisements from the 12th Cine Las Americas International Film Festival won national recognition at this year's Advertising Age Hispanic Creative Advertising Awards. Austin-based, LatinWorks, a leader in Hispanic advertising industry, created the ads for Cine Las Americas. The honors for the advertisements were announced last week at an Awards Show in Miami, Florida.

The 12th Cine Las Americas International Film Festival received Best of Show/Single Ad for "Estratosfera", a television spot that promoted the film festival by featuring a delusional speech by former Argentine president Carlos Menem promising to create space shuttles to make the point "If this is our reality, imagine our films." Other LatinWorks ads from the same campaign, all featuring zany but genuine footage from Latin American leaders' speeches, won silver and bronze prizes for radio spots "Muro" about Mexico and "Coca" (Venezuela) and a TV silver for "Fujishock" (Peru).

Sergio Alcocer, LatinWorks President and Chief Creative Officer says, "We are proud of our association with Cine Las Americas. These important awards are a recognition to the labor of love of a group of passionate Latinos that believe in changing the world through film. We look forward to support Cine for many years to come and to see it turned into the most influential Latin Film Festival in the country."

"It is important for us to deliver a quality image worldwide that is innovative in character, crosses borders and breaks cultural stereotypes. This is important to us because our audience is not only people in Texas, but also the international film community particularly in Latin America, Spain and the U.S. The talent and support we have received from LatinWorks has been invaluable in gaining this sort of effect especially when we want great results, but have a limited budget," states Eugenio del Bosque, executive director of Cine Las Americas.

LatinWorks and Cine Las Americas will partner again this year for the 13th Cine Las Americas International Film Festival taking place April 21-30, 2010 in Austin, Texas.
