JOB DESCRIPTION

Film Festival Technical Director is responsible for ensuring the quality of the film and video projections during the event. Individual is directly responsible for the installation and breakdown of video players at film festival venues, and the technical excellence of all video projections, including sound and image. Individual must be familiar with Beta and DV video formats and players, and be able to solve technical challenges associated with video projection at both multiplex theaters and smaller, multipurpose rooms. Individual is also responsible for the technical quality of Q&A sessions at the theaters.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with 35mm and Video projection.
• Professionally experienced in conference sound, lighting and video projection.
• Availability to be on-call throughout the full extent of the event (April 16 to 24, 2008).
• Self-sufficient, able to solve technical challenges under pressure.
• Ability to install and break down video equipment with fast turn around.
• Able to work within a team that includes Director of Programming, Production Manager, Venue Managers, and volunteers.
• Stamina, high technical standards, commitment to honoring a schedule and reliability are a must.
• Responsible and careful with expensive video equipment.
• Organized, clean and resourceful individual.
