Special Events Coordinator
PAY
Salary commensurate with experience.

February 11 May 2, 2008. Part time contract position.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Coordinates & designs special events during the film festival. Works directly with venues, beverage sponsors, caterers, and co-host organizations during international film festival to organize and produce special events.
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in coordinating and producing events that involve fundraising, beverage sponsorships, and co-sponsoring organizations.
- Knowledge of TABC laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of City of Austin regulations for public events and parties that handle food and beverages.
- Experience in working with beverage sponsors and TABC licensed venues (bars and restaurants).
- Ability to manage relations with beverage and food sponsors in order to provide exposure to their product.
- Ability to thrive and be productive in a fast-paced, high pressure, multi-task work environment with tight deadlines.
- Detail oriented.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Candidate must be confident, fast, upbeat and a team leader.
- Candidate must have excellent taste in food, drink, and event design, understand international events protocol, and have an eye for exclusive features that only Austin can offer to the world.

- Film Festival Opening Night VIP reception
- Film Festival Opening and Closing Night After Parties
- Guest Filmmaker Receptions
- Special theme night event
- Nightly parties.
- Festival volunteers wrap-up party.
