Despite Yolanda and Mari's contrasting approach to survival, they are soon brought together when Mari is almost expelled after saving Yolanda from an incident at school. Lautaro is a young boy growing up in the inner Guerero State of Mexico during the 40s. After his father is murdered, his mother decides to send him away to live with his aunt, lest the murderers decide to do the same to her son.
