Jean, a middle-aged Haitian professor, is always on the move looking for work. Although a job on a building site is a possible option for the unemployed Haitian, Jean is looking for something more suited to the intellectual he considers himself to be. Feeling more and more unfulfilled with his prospects, he finds himself on an increasingly desperate journey to find his place in the world, or even a reason to live. He disappears into the interior of the island as both a lost soul and soul lost amongst his surroundings.
